Easter Hat

Hello All! I had a free day last week because of Spring Break and made quite a few Easter cards. Here is a favorite, I used the Forever Young cart for the image.

Wow, once again it has been forever since I posted anything on the blog. Well, I am trying to do better and keep myself organized, otherwise I don't remember what cards I have sent off to people. My brother and dear cousin just recently had their first babies. Here are some congratulatory cards I made yesterday. I used the Cricut Sampler cart for the images and Hannah Montana for the name. :) Maria

Thank you notes

Today I made 15 thank you notes!  My mom recently celebrated her retirement with a luau for family and friends.  I made these simple notes that fit with the party theme that she will send as thank yous.  I used the Life's a Beach Cricut cart and used the square card feature of the plumeria flower.

Happy 90th Birthday!

My grandma is turning 90 tomorrow! The whole family is travelling to her home for a party and family reunion. Unfortunately, I'm not able to go. :( She loves high heeled shoes and while she can't really wear them anymore, she loves anything that has a shoe design. Last year she told J and me about some blue high heels she got at a yard sale and that's where I got my inspiration to make this card. I used the Shall We Dance cart for the shoes. Hope she likes it!

Happy 15th Birthday!

The hardest cards for me to make are the ones for my son and husband, but I think my son is hardest! He is turning 15 and I wanted to come up with something that was cool and not too young looking. I was thinking about his interests and he is really into anime and manga, most recently he really likes Hatsune Mikuo. He even cosplayed as Hatsune Mikuo at a recent Comicon event. He is an excellent artist and draws perfect pictures of his favorite characters so I didn't want to even try to free hand draw something like that. I couldn't compete! Instead, I decided to cut out a shirt and tie like the one Hatsune wears. The arm on the shirt normally has the number 01, I'm not sure why, but Juliette suggested I use 15 instead since he's turning 15. Hope he likes it! I had a different card before, but wasn't thrilled with it so I made this one instead.

Graduate

Here is a card I made for a friend's daughter that is graduating from 8th grade this weekend. It's pretty simple, but I thought the document image was perfect for 8th grade promotion since they get a certificate and don't wear caps and gowns. I used the Hello Kitty cart for the image and Gypsy font for the 2011. Enjoy! :) Maria

May is a busy month for celebrations and today I made 3 graduation cards. 2 for 8th graders and this one which is for my cousin who is graduating from High School. It's a fun and busy time, lots of parties! I will be happy when school is out. My kids still have to go through the end of next week. I love the Hello Kitty Cricut cart, it has so many fun designs. I used dark blue which goes along with the school colors. I used Gypsy Font for the 2011. :) Maria

Pink Kitty

I found out recently that one of my aunts is a big Hello Kitty fan! She was one of the two aunts of mine who put together a fabulous Mother's Day brunch. She did all the cooking and everything was delicious. I wanted to send her a thank you note and now that I know she loves Hello Kitty too, it was easy to come up with an idea. I used a Hello Kitty stamp from a set I found a few years ago at a Sanrio Store. Hope she likes it! :) Maria

Happy Birthday Ballerina!

So, I made a different version of this card yesterday but didn't like it. I kept the ballerina that I cut from Shall We Dance and changed the rest. I'm happy with the new outcome! Tomorrow is Juliette's 12th birthday! Time does fly! I cut the dancer out at size 4 and then the shoes, lips, eyelashes were too tiny, they kept ripping so I decided to color them in with watercolor pencils instead. Juliette loves ballet, it is her passion, and now that she's getting more serious, we have to buy lots of pointe shoes. They are pricey! She got two new pair last week and they are the bulk of her birthday present. I found this pointe shoe button in a kit at Michael's a few years ago. I forgot I had it and was lucky to find it. I used Forever Young to cut the flower and also for the background of the stamped sentiment which is Susan Branch. I used a lot of pearl stick ons and some stickles on the tutu. I think she will like it! I'm not letting her peek at the blog til tomorrow. :) Maria

Mother's Day

This is a card I made for my mom since it is Mother's Day. I used the forever young cart for the girl and stretch your imagination for the swirly thing. The flower was something from a set I won from a previous contest. It came with blue paper handmade flowers. The umbrella was also forever young. I had to cut out cardstock in the size that fit because the girl and the umbrella were too big! Hope you like it! -Juliette

Pink Umbrella

One of the gifts J received from a friend was a cute black umbrella with white polka dots. I didn't have black and white polka dot paper but I love this pink and black and I thought it was the same general idea. I used the Forever Young cart for the umbrella and the oval background and the stamp is from Stampin Up. :)

J is hanging out with her girlfriends, watching movies and while I watch with them I decided to work on a Mother's Day card for my mom. I've had hats on my mind ever since the Royal Wedding and this is what I came up with! I used the Forever Young cart and a stamp by Susan Branch. :) Maria

Flowers for Mother's Day

Every year for Mother's Day our family celebrates with brunch at my grandma's house. I have a couple of awesome aunts who don't have kids, and they make an amazing meal for all the moms in the family. This year I wanted to give each mom a homemade card so this afternoon I had a little time and made 10 cards! I think that may be a record! I got them done in about an hour and a half. I used the Hello Kitty cart to cut out the flower card and then used a Susan Branch stamp for the Happy Mother's Day inside. I alternated 3 paper designs and I loved how the blues and yellows complimented each other, I thought it was very Spring-like! :)

Slumber Party!

Juliette turns 12 on Monday and is having two of her BFFs over for a Slumber Party tomorrow night. Since there are only 2 girls, I thought I would take a little extra time on the treat bags. Juliette picked out several images from the Slumber Party Cricut Lite cart. I used the Gypsy to weld together the names for the bags. I didn't take pics of what is going inside the bag but here's what it is- I found the cutest lip gloss at the Bath and Body Works Outlet, it was based on the Royal Wedding and has the British flag and is called Pretty as a Princess! Juliette and I loved watching the Royal Wedding and thought the lip gloss was perfect. We also got some cute mini manicure sets and pretty headbands. I think it's going to be a fun party! :) Maria

One of Juliette's best friends is having a minor operation today. We wanted to do something to cheer her up and decided to start with this card. I used the Hello Kitty Greetings cart for the image and a stamp that says Thinking of You. We're wishing her a speedy recovery. :)

I made my Easter cards on Saturday at the last minute and the ones I need to mail are waiting in my car right now! Better late than never, right? I used my Gypsy to weld the egg card together with an image from Doodlecharms. I made the chicks with the Celebrate With Flourish cart, I really like that one. I cut the hat from Forever Young and the stamp I used is from Close to My Heart. I think these chicks are very chic! Enjoy. :) Maria

I love weddings and bridal showers! I have a cousin who is getting married at the end of this month and her bridal shower is this weekend. It's wonderful to have happy occasions to inspire my card making! I used the Celebrate with Flourish cart for the umbrella and cut off the flourish.
